What is the position of Reef Care Curacao concerning the recent number of accidents at the Curacao Dolphin Academy?
The board of Reef Care Curacao is very worried and sad about the things that happen. In the past, we have been very active against said company and its malpractice. We received good response; a team of active local people did achieve results in the battle. They also created a lot of marine awareness.

That was 6 years ago.

Now, we receive many calls from worried people, who ask us why we do not boost up actions again. After all, RCC is a local action group and not an institution or company.

Now, local people do not join protests, nor stand up and join RCC as volunteer. Consequently, there is not enough substance to carry out actions. Reasons vary from fear of repression from this company, feeling that there are worse issues that need priority attention, own struggle for life, or just hoping someone else will do it.

In future, we will be more then happy to report on this site that the situation changed and matters got followed up appropriately.
